Ripe plum and fresh flavors make this tea stand out! Packed with healthy antioxidants and purpose. Featuring purple tea from the Nandi Hills of Kenya. Purple tea is produced from the leaves of the camellia sinensis plant, the same plant from which black, green, oolong, and other types of tea are made. Unlike these other types of tea, the leaves of this new varietal are purple instead of green.

Health Benefits:

Studies have shown that purple tea contains antioxidants than green tea and less than half the caffeine. The tea leaves are naturally purple in color because they contain anthocyanins. Anthocyanin-antioxidents are found in other purple plants (like blueberries) and have been found to lower cholesterol, improve immune health, and help as a natural anti-inflammatory. Anthocyanins are also thought to help protect against cancer and neurodegenerative diseases by reducing free radicals, which can harm and damage cells, resulting in illness and even certain types of cancer.

The Only Tea That Changes Color:

Due to the high content of antioxidants in the tea, the steeped liquor changes color when you add a couple drops of lemon to it. The liquor changes into a beautiful purple hue due to a reaction with the anthocyanin ph-indicators naturally present in the tea.
